Volunteer Opportunity: Teach English to Adult Learners – Spring 2026 with Conexión Américas

Why Your Work Matters:
By volunteering as an English teacher with Conexión Américas, you’ll play a vital role in helping adult immigrants in the Nashville area improve their language skills, integrate into the community, and gain confidence in their daily lives. Your efforts will directly impact families by helping parents communicate better with their children, connect with neighbors, and open doors to new opportunities.

What You’ll Be Doing:
As a volunteer English teacher, you’ll lead 1.5-hour online classes once a week for a 12-week term, helping adult learners advance in their language skills. You don’t need to be a certified teacher—just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to support others. We’ll provide a structured curriculum and syllabus, along with training to get you comfortable with our tools and platform.

Skills or Qualifications:

• No certification required, though some teaching or tutoring experience is helpful.
• Volunteers must be 18 years or older.
• Access to a computer with reliable internet is essential.
• Comfort with online teaching (Zoom) is preferred, but we will provide orientation and support.
• Classes will be recorded for quality and program policy

Time Commitment:

• The full term runs from January 27th, 2025, to May 7th, 2025.
• Classes are held Tuesday or Thursday evenings from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. You can choose which evening works best for you.
• Orientation will take place in January, and we encourage volunteers to attend graduation, ideally in person, on May 7th, 2026.
