Volunteer Agreement

This agreement is made between you ("the Volunteer") and Conexión Américas ("the Organization"). The purpose of this agreement is to outline the expectations, responsibilities, and mutual understanding for your participation as a volunteer for the period of January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025.

General Provisions

• The Volunteer understands that this is a voluntary role and is not entitled to compensation, benefits, or future employment.
• The Volunteer will not replace or displace any employee.
• Conexión Américas reserves the right to end the volunteer relationship at any time, with or without cause.
• Transportation to and from the volunteer site is the responsibility of the Volunteer.

Volunteer Responsibilities

• Follow all Conexión Américas policies and procedures, including those outlined in the employee handbook.
• Maintain a regular schedule as agreed upon with your assigned supervisor.
• Conduct yourself professionally and respectfully at all times.
• Immediately report to your supervisor any concerns related to the well-being or safety of participants or other staff.

Ethical Conduct

• Interact with participants in a professional, respectful, and appropriate manner at all times.
• Do not engage in personal relationships or contact with participants outside of your role.
• Avoid all forms of inappropriate or unprofessional behavior, including but not limited to sexual misconduct.
• Volunteers must not "friend," follow, or message participants on social media platforms.

Volunteer Speaker Guidelines

• Volunteers serving as speakers may not promote a business or service.
• Sales pitches are strictly prohibited.
• Educational materials may be shared if relevant.
• No participant data, photos, or recordings may be collected or used for personal or professional use without written approval.

Violation of any ethical conduct may result in disciplinary action, including dismissal, pending review by the Director of People and Culture.

Confidentiality Agreement

Volunteers are expected to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality regarding all clients and participants of Conexión Américas. This includes but is not limited to:

• Immigration status
• Financial, employment, or academic records
• Health or mental health history
• Personal or family contact information

This obligation to confidentiality continues indefinitely, even after your volunteer service ends.

Only the Executive Director and Board President are authorized to disclose organizational data or information to the public.

Accident Waiver and Release of Liability

By participating as a volunteer, you acknowledge and accept all risks associated with volunteering, including injury, illness, or property damage. You agree to hold harmless Conexión Américas, its employees, and affiliates from any claims arising from your participation.

You agree to:

• Accept full responsibility for your health and safety.
• Receive emergency medical treatment if necessary.
• Abide by all safety procedures provided during your service.

This waiver is broad and intended to be enforceable to the full extent of the law. If any part of this agreement is deemed unenforceable, the remainder shall remain in effect.

Photo & Media Release

I grant Conexión Américas permission to use my image, voice, and likeness in promotional materials, including but not limited to printed materials, online media, and social media platforms.

I understand:

• These images may be cropped or edited.
• I waive the right to inspect or approve the final use.
• I release Conexión Américas from liability related to usage.
• This release is binding and irrevocable.

Acknowledgment

By submitting this form, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to comply with the Volunteer Agreement, Confidentiality Agreement, Liability Waiver, and Photo Release as outlined above. This submission serves as my digital signature.
